The vast majority, over 97% has a full-time contract, while the remaining 2.7% of employees have a part-time contracts. The management’s commitment to build a stable and lasting working relationship with its employees, establishing deep roots with their communities is manifested in the high number of permanent contracts, which are the 98.7% of the total workforce, confirming the marked downward trend featured in the three-year period by the number of fixed-term contracts.

People in Duferco are essential to the success of the Group’s strategy. The focus of the entire workforce is reflected in daily activities aimet at continuous development. Continuous trainign aimed at the development of new skills and the consolidation of those already acquired is fundamental in the planning of business activities. To mention a few data from the year 2023, about 55% of people in Duferco TP are aged between 30 and 50.
9.6% of employees are under 30 years old. The rate of new hires is higher among younger generations (<30 years) while it is about 6 – 11% in other age groups.
Empowering our people. Training people is essential for a company that wants to improve its products and processes. 2023 was the year that most of all coincided with the technological and industrial innovation of the company, and which led to an increase of about 38% in training hours.
Since workers are a cornerstone of DTP’s success, continuing training to develop new skills and to strengthen and consolidate those already acquired is central to the planning of companies’ activities. Functional specialization and continuous improvement for its staff at all levels are fundamental elements to achieve success in the medium and long term. The training, in addition to the activities carried out daily that allow workers to hone their skills, is carried out both through courses in presence and distance, both through the training carried out directly at the workplace

THE FOURTH EDITION OF MANAGEMENT 4 STEEL
The Steel Academy, born from the collaboration between actors in the steel sector such as ASONEXT SPA, Duferco Italia Holding, Feralpi Group, Pittini Group and Ori Martin, aims to overcome corporate individuality to create shared paths aimed at providing transversal skills, soft skills and additional technical knowledge. The most recent “chapter” of the project is Electrical 4 Steel. Launched in February, it aims to further develop professional technical skills in the field of electrical maintenance. In the current industrial context, innovation is one of the most important variables for the future of steel companies. It is a challenge that can only be met by investing in training, growing the intellectual capital of the company and enabling technicians and managers to respond to a constantly changing market. Engaging people with diverse backgrounds and roles aims to create a collaborative mindset and promote networking and debate within the industry. To date, 87 employees of the partner companies have participated, with the provision of about 6,000 hours of training in two locations: in Brescia (ISFOR Training and Research) and in Verona (Officina Pittini per la Formazione). ISFOR Training and Research and Pittini Workshop for Training are also project partners.
